2-Day Detailer Course

The SONAX 2 day detailer course is a combination of our classic “basic” and “expert” courses and is designed for enthusiasts and professionals wanting to improve their skills but do not require the knowledge on Ceramic Coatings which is also covered on our 3-day course.

By combining the 2 courses back to back, we can discuss each stage in detail and offer you more time to work hands-on under the supervision of our Master Trainer, Chris Channon.

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at anyone looking to improve their understanding of fundamental detailing techniques, chemical knowledge and advanced paint correction techniques and no prior experience is essential

Day 1:

Work Preparation and Exterior Cleaning

• Optimal Workplace Setup: You’ll learn how to create the best working environment for detailing tasks, ensuring efficiency and safety.
• Vehicle Check: How to properly inspect a vehicle before beginning any detailing work.
• Exterior Cleaning: Techniques for thorough exterior cleaning, using the right products for maximum results.
• Exterior Cleaning and Paintwork: A detailed look at preparing the vehicle for polishing and the cleaning methods that prep the paint for further treatment.
• Paint Condition Analysis: Understanding the condition of the paint and how to address common issues.
• Product Application: Detailed training on the application of exterior cleaning products, from detergents to waxes.
• Engine Cleaning & Sealing: Techniques for cleaning and sealing the engine bay.
• Paint Enhancement: How to improve the vehicle’s paint appearance, focusing on techniques that remove imperfections.

Interior Cleaning

• Seats and Carpets: Methods for cleaning and maintaining fabric, leather, and upholstery.
• Headliner, Cockpit, and Leather: Focus on delicate interior areas such as the headliner and leather.
• Plastic and Window Cleaning: Techniques for cleaning plastic surfaces and windows, including best practices for avoiding damage.

Day 2:

Paint Preparation

• Polishing Techniques & Focal Points: You’ll learn advanced polishing methods and how to focus on specific areas that require more attention.
• Understanding Paint Layers: Basic knowledge of paint structures, including how individual layers contribute to the paint’s finish.
• Polish Analysis: Understanding the differences between various polishes and their effects on the paint.
• Grinding Techniques: Detailed explanations on using grinding techniques safely and effectively.
• Machine Polishing: How polishing machines work, how to use them properly, and how to correct common mistakes.
• Sealants: The importance of sealants in the detailing process and how to apply them for long-lasting protection.
